Fabiola Mota is a Full Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Faculty of Law, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She was previously a Professor of Political Science at the Universidad de Murcia. She holds a PhD in Political Science and Sociology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, completed a Diploma in Constitutional Law and Political Science from the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies, and has been a FPI fellow at the Institute of Political and Social Sciences of the UAB (Universidad de Barcelona), as well as a visiting researcher at internationally renowned scientific institutions such as the University of Edinburgh, LSE, the University of Michigan, Indiana University, and the EUI in Florence.

Her research interests include the study of political attitudes and preferences of elites and public opinion, civil society and citizen participation, and territorial policies and multilevel governance.

At the UAM, she is a member of two research groups: "Elites and Political Actors" and "Democracy, Participation and Government."
